It also sees him retain a spot in the Cell C Sharks and keeps him in the crosshairs of selectors for the 2021 British and Irish Lions tour. The 29-year-old said the original Japanese offer was for one year, but that he couldn't leave for a year without knowing what would happen to his future thereafter. "I'm not sa...

The new Diego Costa eyes Barcelona

Diego Costa will need to leave a superior impression than on his last outing to the Camp Nou when Atletico Madrid goes to play Barcelona on Tuesday. The striker has come back from lockdown fit as a fiddle and has been in the fine structure on the pitch, scoring three objectives in Atletico's initial five games back. Presently, he's getting ready to take on a Barcelona side that looks somewhat suspect at the back. Costa's last appearance at the Camp Nou, on April 6, 2019, kept going only 28 minutes before he was sent off by Jesus Gil Manzano. The profane words he utilized towards the arbitrator that night saw him get a straight red card and a resulting eight-coordinate boycott. That suspension shut down a season in which the Spanish worldwide had overseen only five objectives, remembering two for the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid. It was September before the previous Chelsea forward came back to activity in LaLiga Santander and he just got twice in his n...

Lions will find Springboks in rude health thanks to Rassie

Image
As we reflect on the Springbok triumph of 1995, it is a curious fact from the era of professional rugby that the travels of the British and Irish Lions to South Africa correlate with the Springboks as world champions, and it is also a fact that in every The Boks have a different coach than the one who won the World Cup two years earlier. Rugby fans can book British and Irish Lions Tour Tickets on our website on exclusively discounted prices. In 1996, poor health saw Kitch Christie turn the reins over to Andre Markgraaff, who after being dishonored when a racist comment was released resigned and was succeeded by the inexperienced Carel du Plessis for the '97 series against the Lions Carel should never have been named and the momentum generated by the 1995 World Cup victory was lost and the Boks lost a series to a fairly average Lions team. It was a different story when the Lions returned in 2009. The team Jake White had built to win the 2007 World Cup was preserved by incoming...
