South
African players from the victorious squads in the 1995, 2007, and 2019 Rugby
World Cups have teamed up during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rugby fans can book British and Irish Lions Tour Tickets
on our website on exclusively discounted prices.
2007 team
captain John Smit recently shared a photo of himself alongside half of the 1995
fly Joel Stransky, former teammates Jannie du Plessis and Pierre Spies, as well
as recent winners Elton Jantjies and Trevor Nyakane. They were all buying and
packing food packages to deliver as part of the South African Rugby Legends
Association.

Nyakane,
whose 2019 campaign in Japan was cut short due to a calf injury, wrote on
Instagram: “A challenge worth taking, thanks for the invitation Elton Jantjies,
this is a great cause, I hope that I and the Blue Bulls we can continue the
great work you are doing and feed more people."
These are
not the only Springboks that have been active during the pandemic, as Captain
Siya Kolisi's tireless work of 2019, through the Kolisi Foundation, has been
monumental. The flanker has joined South Africa's goalscorer record Bryan
Habana in recent weeks, as well as his teammate for club and country Herschel
Jantjies.
Kolisi
turned to social media to share his work with Herschel, saying:
“On and off
the field, we are united to bring hope to our communities, no matter how big or
small it is. I am very proud of the work that Herschel Jantjies has been doing
in Kylemore and in nearby communities to help during this time. He not only
uses his voice but also uses his platform to make a difference in the people who
shaped the person he is now!”

Cheslin
Kolbe is another South African rugby star who has worked hard in the community
during these times, in what has been an enormously positive response from the
players.
