At his best, Morgan is a tremendous striker with the ability to earn a score at a strike rate of 138.25 in 107 T20 matches.

During an online conference, he was asked about dropping himself. Eoin Morgan said “It's always an option. I'm not going to stand in the way of a team winning the World Cup."

Eoin Morgan is the captain who led England to win the One Day International World Cup two years ago, he said “I have been short of runs, but my captaincy has been pretty good.

While Eoin Morgan was rested, Jos Butler led the team in a warm-up match against India on Monday, England lost the match to seven wickets.

After sitting out of the match against India, Eoin Morgan will lead the team in the match against New Zealand on Wednesday.

During Indian Premier League, Morgan made two ducks and scored double figures runs only once in his nine innings for Kolkata Knight Riders.

"I wouldn't be standing here if I hadn't come out of every bad run of form that I've ever had," Morgan said.

"The nature of T20 cricket and where I bat means I always have to take high-risk options. I've come to terms with that." He added.

England will play their opening T20 World Cup match against West Indies on Saturday, October 23 in Dubai.
