Chris Woakes has asked his all-rounder teammates that they need to put Ashes matches aside at present to focus on T20 World Cup. As the World Cup is around the corner.

Chris was a part of the team when England won ODI World Cup in 2019. But he has not played T20 format for the last six years until summer this year.

“It is good news with regards to Australia and the Ashes tour,” said Woakes. “But there is a small matter of the T20 World Cup first.
Chris says “We have a big T20 World Cup in front of us and you don’t want to get to the end of the tournament and think “I wasn’t fully engaged” we have to give this our complete attention.
“There might be another World Cup but there is no guarantee that I or anyone else will be selected in the T20 Squad next year so we have to make the most of it now. The Ashes have to have to be parked.
Woakes will be a good addition to England for he will try his ODI bowling skills in this T20 World Cup.
Woakes said he believes that he has improved as a bowler since his last tour to Australia.
“It is a tough place to go, but I am four years older, have played more cricket, got more experience under my belt and I believe I am a better bowler now than I was then.” Said Woakes.
